Weebly site unpublished or offline: what to do now

Title card: Weebly site unpublished or offline, what to do now
Weebly site unpublished or offline, what to do now.

If your Weebly website has disappeared and you are in one of the countries named in Weebly's shutdown notice, the cause is almost certainly not a fault on your side. Weebly is winding down its service in 67 countries, and sites there were unpublished on 27 September 2026. You can still sign in to your account until 26 December 2026, which is enough time to save your content and move your domain if you start now.

Below is what Weebly's own help pages say, linked in each step, and what to save in which order. Where a detail depends on your account, check it in your Weebly or Square account.

Lotus & Tulip is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Weebly, Square or Block, Inc. Weebly is a trademark of its owner and is named here only to describe the service.

Is your country affected?

Weebly's notice, Upcoming Changes to Weebly's Global Operations, lists 67 countries. They include Singapore, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Nigeria, Kenya, Pakistan, Colombia and Chile. Check the full list on that page.

If your country is not on the list, the notice does not apply to you, and your site is offline for another reason, such as an expired plan, a billing problem or a setting in the editor. In that case, sign in to your Weebly or Square account and contact Weebly support.

The dates that matter

What to do before 26 December, in order

  1. Sign in and check what you have. Note which sites, domains and email services are in your account.
  2. Download your account data. The notice points to Account Settings, My Data, Download My Data. Save the file somewhere safe, and keep a second copy. The notice does not list exactly what the file contains, so open it and check that your text and photos are there.
  3. Download a site archive for each site. In the site editor, go to Settings, General, then the Archive section, enter your email and choose Email Archive. Weebly emails you a link to a ZIP file. Weebly's Back Up Your Site page says blog and store pages are not included, and that contact forms and slideshows may not work outside the editor.
  4. Copy anything the archive leaves out. If blog posts, product details or prices are missing from your downloads, copy them into a document by hand.
  5. Move your domain, or decide to keep it. If your web address was bought through Weebly, transfer it to another registrar before your access ends. Our step by step guide covers this: how to move your Weebly domain before 26 December.
  6. Check your email. If you have a Google Workspace account through Weebly, the notice says to contact Weebly support to transfer it directly to Google.
  7. Erase your data, if you want to. Once you have downloaded everything, the notice says you can ask Weebly to erase your data and forget your account. Only do this after you have checked your downloads.

What if you can no longer sign in?

Before 26 December, try a password reset first, then contact Weebly support. After that date the notice says login access ends, so your own files become the main source: photos on your phone, price lists, social media posts, and any public archived copy of your own site. If your site was archived, a new site can usually be rebuilt from the text and photos in it, although forms, shop checkouts and booking tools have to be set up again.

Need the site back online? If your Weebly site went offline in one of the affected countries, we can rebuild it as a one-page site from your own content, with a free preview first. See how the rebuild works.

FAQ

Can I republish my Weebly site?

Does the site archive include my blog?

No. Weebly's Back Up Your Site page says blog and store pages are not included in the export.
